Declutter your Mind and your Home

In Feng Shui, the English word clutter signifies a mental or physical blockage for an undisturbed and natural flow of energy in your conscience, as well as your environment. This type of strain/pressure on your conscience or living area make it nearly impossible to successfully evaluate your current life situations or make the right decisions.

Similarly to a computer, your brain works at a slower speed when overloaded. In order to relieve yourself of this burden, it is necessary to come to a final closure with issues from the past. It is up to you to decision which method is most effective in your case, whether it be talking in person with the individual(s) involved; writing them a letter or email; talking it through with yourself - a method most convenient if you can no longer contact the individual(s). Express everything that you wished you had said all these years...and put an end to it.

One of the simplest principles of physical unburdening is to keep objects that bring back good memories, and with them positive energy.  Depending on you and the size of your space, you can choose to put these objects on display or put them away neatly, but try keeping it at a reasonable amount.  Everything else which hasn't been used for more than two years can be donated, sold, or in the final case, a small amount can be stored in your garage or other additional storage areas. The objects that bring about  negative feelings should be disposed of immediately, in any manner.

Finally, all remaining items need to be organized in a way that will make finding them easy. It is especially important to follow the guidelines of Feng Shui to maintain an uninterrupted flow of energy throughout each area of your home. Avoid 'hiding' boxes under your bed, as this prevents the flow of Chi energy. Along with that, be careful that the layout of your furniture allows for free movement, and that your hallways are organized and spacious, since this is the first impression and energy you bring into your home.
